

Carlos was born to Carl M. Morton and raised by grandparents, Jesse Fredrick Malone Straussman Morton and Roberta Jessie Gonzales Morton.
Known as Big Carlos, he moved to San Bernardino as a young man where he met and fell in love with Sylvia Elizabeth Ballesteros. Soon after, they married and began to raised their family in San Bernardino prior to moving to Riverside where he lived for 28 years.
Big Carlos is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia and son, Carlos, Jr. He is survived by his son, Donnie (Rocio), daughters Yolie, Marlene, Darlene (Jeff), daughter-in-law, Lydia, grandchildren, Donnie,Jr., Tony, Jazmin, Dario, Beto, Carlos III, Gabriel, Dorian, Fernando, Sammy, Aaliyah and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to a host of family and friends that became family.
Big Carlos is a member of Viejitos Car Club established in 1985. He was always identified as the tall Puertorriqueño with broad shoulders and mesmerizing light green eyes with a tribe of grandchildren. He enjoyed building classic cars and teaching his children and grandchildren how to build and modify cars and motorcycles. Sylvia and the kids bought Big Carlos a 1951 Chevy Deluxe for Father’s Day in 1992 which he customized and could be seen cruising all throughout California, Arizona and Mexicali with his entire family and the Viejitos Car Club.
Big Carlos enjoyed passing on his knowledge, chatting about old times and watching his family grow, laugh, dance, be silly and just love each other every time his kids and grandkids got together. Big Carlos also has a love for sports which he has passed to his kids and grandkids. He especially loved to coach little league baseball and watching Dodgers games. He has shared so many fond memories with many. Please take a moment to share your memories with his family.
