

Danny grew up in Indio, CA where he graduated from Coachella High School in 1960. On March 1, 1961, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served until 1965 and reenlisted in 1972. As a Marine he proudly served his country here and abroad, including Japan and in the Philippine Islands. Notably he served two tours in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps on November 20, 1978.
In between his Military service Danny became the first Hispanic Police Officer for the Indio Police Department. He retired as a Correctional Officer with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in 2010.
Danny married his wife of 33 years, Kathryn, on June 7, 1984, in Riverside CA.
Danny lived his life serving others. He was a proud Lion of twenty years with Lions International, and enjoyed attending vision clinics with Friends in Sight. Danny became a Knight, with the Knights of Columbus in September 2014, reaching 4th degree on February 7, 2015.
Danny was preceded in death by his father Albino and his sister Jenny Franco.
Danny is survived by his wife Kathryn, son Daniel Ogaz, II and wife Veletta Ogaz, daughters Desiree Carreon and her husband Steve Carreon and Danielle Ogaz, four grandchildren: Kyle Carreon, Alex Ogaz, Noah Carreon and his wife Sara Carreon, and Adam Ogaz, one great grandson on the way Levi, his mother Isabel Ogaz, brother Robert Ogaz, sisters Irene Perales and her husband John Perales and Lori Ogaz, his loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Services will be held January 22, 2018, at our Lady Queen of Peace, 3520 E. Washington St, Loma Linda, CA 92354 beginning at 0900.
