Darlene Long

Darlene Long, age 96, passed away on 9/6/2014 at her home Riverside California surrounded by family and friends. Darlene was born on December 9th 1917 in the city of Persia, Harrison County, Iowa. She was a graduate of Logan High School in Iowa and attended business college in Riverside, CA.

Divorced in 1974.

Darlene worked for Mission Pontiac as a bookkeeper but when they closed in 1942 because of the war she went to work at Blue Banner Co., Inc. as a clerk, Office Manager, and Controller. She retired from there after 39 years.

She was a member of Soroptimist International.

She enjoyed many various things such as singing "Oh Promise Me" at her sister's, niece's and nephew's weddings. She loved to travel seeing places like Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, Lisbon and touring Greece extensively with her son.

Pre-deceased by her only child Ronald Long and by 1 niece and 1 nephew.

Survived by her Granddaughter Kandi Schuff, Sister-n-Law Doris Berch, 14 nieces and nephews as well as many grand and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19th at 1 o'clock at the Valley View Chapel at Montecito Mortuary in Colton, California. A reception will follow at King Arthur Estate mobile Home Park, 1560 Massachusetts Ave, riverside, CA 92507.
