My husband Darrel Lee Miller was born on May 21, 1968 in Toledo Ohio. His family left Ohio and started a new venture in Riverside County when Darrel was 2 years old. He graduated from Woodcrest Christian High School in 1986, where he played high school football and tennis. He continued his education at Riverside Community College on a tennis scholarship.
Darrel decided to hit the road and join the work force. He became a contractor and started his own business, Bridge Street Development. Darrel and his crew were traveling coast to coast remolding Burger Kings. Approx six years go, He decided to stop traveling and sell his business. Darrel said he wanted to retire and be home but he never completely stopped working.
Darrel and I married on January 29, 2000. They began their journey together when buying their first home in Reche Canyon. As best friends, we shared many interest from dunning in Glamis, camping and riding bikes at the beach, traveling to exotic beaches, going to hockey games, having friends & family over for pool parties, and most of all just being home together. Darrel was known to his family and friends as the go to guy for any help they may of needed around the house or out at the dunes.
Darrel had lived an amazing life even though it was rather short. Darrel was a man nobody can replace… at least not in my heart. We’ve been married for 12 years. Darrel and I were perfect for each other as he was my best friends. He was indeed affectionate and was not a man of few words at all! Darrel had lots to say for just about anything.
Darrel lived his life the best way he could. He was well loved especially by kids since he was a big kid himself. The type of person you can’t get enough of. Well, at least I think of him that way. I married him, didn’t I? If I could live all over again and would go back to the time when Darrel asked me to marry him, I would still say yes! Marrying him was the best decision I ever made in my life and I would not change that. Darrel was my knight in shining armor. That’s how much I love my husband… That’s how much I will keep on loving him.
Darrel is in heaven now and this is not the time for us to grieve his death but it’s our time to celebrate his life. Don’t ever forget Darrel. He never wanted to see people cry. He wanted to make everyone happy. So at this moment when we are about to lay Darrel to rest, let’s all think back and remember how Darrel touched our lives. How he made us laugh and all the great times we shared with Darrel. This is not the moment for us to shed our tears but we should all be thankful that we were given the chance to have known a man named Darrel. Honey, I will feel your warm embrace again and our souls will unite for an eternity together in heaven. I love you always and forever.
