from this life and returned to his heavenly home on April 23, 2021. His firm belief in
God and his devotion to his family was the center of his life. David was born to the
late Ora James Clark and Ola Mae Bennett Clark. He was the third of nine siblings.
David was involved in the Christian community and accepted Christ at an early age at
Hazel Green Missionary Baptist Church, in Winona, Mississippi. He graduated from J.
J. Knox High School, Winona, Mississippi in 1960. He received his Bachelor’s Degree
from Chapman University, Orange, California and his Master of Business Administration Degree from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California.
It was in the countryside of Kilmichael, Mississippi where he would meet his love and
best friend, Daisy Mae Hemphill. On May 9, 1965, in Kilmichael, Mississippi, David
married Daisy and was her loving and devoted husband for almost fifty-six years.
Born to this union was one daughter, Dion Lynett Clark. David was a hard working
husband and father. From the very beginning, he dedicated his daughter to the Lord
and raised her to love God and family.
David began his career in the United States Air Force in 1960 and remained on active
duty until his retirement in February 1986 as a Chief Master Sergeant. Immediately
following retirement, he began working for The Department of Defense as a Financial
Manager for twenty-three years. He received many accolades, honors and recognition
throughout his career.
Deacon Clark was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, San Bernardino, California since 1987. In 2002, he became a proud ordained deacon and served faithfully. He was an active member in the Laymen Ministry. He was active in community activities and volunteered helping veterans and families with information at The Retirees’ Activities Office at March Air Reserve Base.
His parents and three siblings preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Daisy; daughter, Dion Lynett Clark of Highland, California; sisters: Bernice Clark Johnson (Vernell) of Flossmoor, Illinois; Annie Hudson (Troy) of St. Louis, Missouri; Rosie Walker (Weed) of Winona, Mississippi; Glorious Alexander (Robert) of Harvey, Illinois; Vera Liddell of Dalton, Illinois; brother-in-law, Dorris Hemphill (Verlonia) of
Dayton, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Louise Clark of Winona, Mississippi. He has a host of Godchildren that he loved dearly. A multitude of church family, friends, community and extended family will honor his memory.
