

Epifanio and Beatrice were married in 1944 in Michoacan Mexico. Epifanio brought his wife and 1st son Ralph to the United States while participating in the “US Bracero Program”. In Texas he began a career with the Railroad that lasted for over 25 years. While in Texas he was blessed with a daughter, Rosa (deceased) and two sons, Ramon (deceased) and Epifanio Jr. His employment with the Railroad prompted him to move his family to Los Angeles where two more sons Arthur and Jose were welcomed to the family. Years later the Torres family settled in San Bernardino where Epifanio retired from Santa Fe railroad. Still full of energy Epifanio began a very successful landscaping business. In 1986 Epifanio and Beatrice retired to Tecate Mx. for 15 years before returning to the U.S. In Tecate they developed many new friendships and joined the local Senior citizens club “El Club de Alegria”. Epifanio served as President of “El Club” for many years. He participated in many races as a walker and won many medals representing the club throughout Mexico. Epifanio was proud to have become a US citizen but never forgetting Mexico.
He is survived by 3 Sons Epifanio Jr. (Cathy) and Jose (Josefina) of Rialto and Arthur (Anna) of San Bernardino, A sister Lupe Chavez of Mexico, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. The family would like to thank Kaiser Permanente Hospice and their dedicated staff, Granddaughter Rebecca Torres for the many Years of care for both Epifanio and Beatrice and a special thanks to Daughter in-law Josefina who provided care and comfort in the last months of his life.
