

Floyd Eugene (Jackson) Burnett, born July 7, 1930 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Edna M. Howard and Preston Emmitt Jackson. Passed October 21,2017 in Big Bear Lake, California. Floyd was predeceased by his brother Preston Howard "Buck" Burnett, and sister Lorene May Webster.
Graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School, Highland Park, California in 1949.
Joined the United States Marine Corp in 1949, served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953.
Married Betty Jo Knight of Memphis, Tennessee on July 25,1953 in Anaheim, California.
Three sons: Robert Eugene Burnett(Michele)- granddaughter Tiffanie(Adam Moorman) great grandchildren Cambria and Ryker, Richard Alan Burnett(Jennifer) step daughters Joanie (Sam Tennant) step granddaughter Skye, Alida Abrahamsen, step grandchildren Erik and Emma, Mark Steven Burnett(Jill)- grandson Kent Burnett (Cori) and Kyle Burnett.
His lifelong sales career began with Helms Bakery and continued with Plas-ties Company, Nestle Food Corp, and Smith Welding Equipment.
Served his community in Orange, California as a Boy Scout leader, Little League baseball coach, umpire and President, and Masonic Lodge member. After moving to Big Bear Lake, California in 1995 he became involved in the San Bernardino County Sheriff's as a Commander for the Citizen Patrol, CHP Volunteer of the Year, Big Bear Lake "Elks" #1787 Exalted Ruler, Vice President and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, Inland District.
Floyd enjoyed wood working, fishing, boating and supporting his grandchildren's participation in various sporting activities. He was always a "spirited" spectator! Later in life he enjoyed debating politics with his numerous friends while enjoying a fresh donut at OJ's.
