For the past 30 years Grace was one of our best friends. We enjoyed the times we spent together, we often dined and traveled in group together. We know her as being very pleasant, cheerful, kind, organized, punctual and smart; she was quick in computing and breaking down the tab for us all in the group when we went Dutch. She will always be missed.

When my family and I moved to US in 2001, she picked us up in the airport, let us stayed in her house until we found an apartment. She was always there for us, for all family members who needed help. We are forever thankful to her. May you rest in peace, my dear kuku Fan.

I thought I saw her face today

We grew up together, we learned how to ride a tricycle for the first time, we learned how to drive a car, which we dented my dad's favorite car...ooops! And when I first visited her in her Loma Linda's apartment, she fed me rice and deep fried chicken wings...that's the best chicken wings I ever tasted until now.  Miss her dearly!

It was the first night in our Israel tour on March 24 while having the group dinner, when we received that phone call from Vonny K about the passing of our beloved friend Grace. We were all shocked and dumbfounded.

Over the next few days, we were so saddened and bothered that we could not sleep well and whenever the tour stopped at a church and we were allowed time on our own we both would sit quietly to reflect on Grace and pray that her beloved family may get divine healing and forgiveness.

We first met Grace and Djang Min about 20 years ago at the Kounangs’ home in CA, but we started to be good friends only about 10 years ago when they started traveling with us in groups. Since then they had been with us to the Antarctic, crossing the Atlantic, India and other places. They visited us and stayed at our home in Houston in 2016 and we traveled just the four of us to Galveston. The last group travel with us was in January of this year cruising the Southern Caribbean for 2 weeks where we took some snorkeling excursions together. 

Little that we knew that beneath Grace’s kind and fun demeanor there lied something that was totally not right. We kept thinking that she did not need to go that way. However we came to terms that all she wanted was to be in what she thought to be a better place where there would be no more tears and sorrow.

Grace, we miss you. Good bye.

I have known Grace Giok Fan since we were in junior high school (SMP) in Indonesia. And then after graduating high school, we went our own paths and lost contact. Grace was a smart, strong and independent person. Since we have high school Whats App Group, we could communicate again and met in the reunions and whenever she visited Sydney. 
I’m really shocked and sad with her passed away.

   After she retired,she had more time to stay in contact with me. Very frequently when she did her routine walk in the morning, we chatted on the phone. Small talks, always very pleasant and we both enjoyed very much. We become very good friend instead of just simply relative relationship.

For 10 days, we were always happy, laughing and shared lots of jokes. 
Now, every time I pass the hotel, I remember that you stayed there.

Now...you have left us, but you leave us with lots of great, happy memories.

If I remember California always remember one of my aunt lives there. This picture never goes away. Last time we had a chance to meet after 30 years in the summer 2017 in California, we went out driving, chatting, shopping and eating at Chipotle and Korean restaurant the whole day until our stomach so full. We had a really good time, fun and happy. You are always remembered. May you rest in peace.

Kuku Afan is my youngest aunt. She was loving, caring, generous, and helpful. She had such a cheerful personality that was contagious to the people around her. When my family was living in China, we had moved to 3 different cities, and she never once missed to come with the whole Kodok reunion group to visit each city we lived in (Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen). That has been so memorable and truly a great blessing for my family. Now that you left us, you will be dearly missed. May you rest in peace, Kuku.

Since then we are getting close with Grace travelling together to Hongkong, Puncak. She likes travelling and she always charming, having beautiful time togother with Grace. It's memory that we never forget.......

I knew Grace for more than 15 years, but became closer when I joined Club 24. Grace was a thoughful, helpful and generous person. She used to come to my office often, as her house is nearby. She helped me with my work while we had fun together,  we talked about all happy things, she was like my little sister. So many sweet memories with her, especially when we vacationed to Europe 2 years ago. Rest In Peace Grace, JESUS loves you unconditionally.🙏🙏🙏 You’ll be missed❤️❤️❤️

I worked with Grace ever since I started the postal service in 2006.. she gave me my first designer bag and would always bring us zucchini while she was on lunch. She was the sweetest and most sincerest person I’ve ever met.  She will be missed. 

Grace was a lovely , warm , kind hearted and simple honest person . I got to know her better when she visited Surabaya a few times . Then Our trip to Iceland  . Even the recent visit, she joined having lunch with us. I will miss you especially your inner beauty smile . My prayers will be with the family , give them strength at this time . If Christopher and Felicia want to come to Surabaya , we will be pleased to meet you both. God bless
