In loving memory of Ivan Morris Bill (Uncle Bill) Mattheson, who peacefully passed away on December 23, 2023. Born in British Guyana on November 28, 1927, Ivan shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elsa Faria Mattheson. Ivan was not only a devoted husband but also a loving father, uncle, and friend to many.
Upon his arrival in the U.S., he served in the Army and became a skilled ham radio operator before uniting in marriage with Elsa. His professional journey led him through years of selling sporting goods for Precise Imports in New York and later selling cars for Becker Wagonmaster Subaru near Allentown, PA, where he thrived until his well-deserved retirement. He eventually settled in Rancho Cucamonga, California, where he lived until Elsa's passing. Known for his generosity, humor, and patience, Ivan's kindness touched many lives. A testament to his compassionate nature, he once offered strangers his credit card to buy gas and welcomed them into his home until they secured jobs and could move on.
Ivan is survived by his children and their families, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. His legacy of warmth and care will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Graveside service for Ivan will be at 11:45am at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, California 92518
