Jaime (Jimmy) Basbas Asperas, a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired employee of the Government of Guam (USA), passed in peace on February 1st, 2022, at Loma Linda University Medical Center at the age of 69.
Jaime is survived by his wife- Baby Rosario; children- Ruchelle, Joelle & Rosewel, Wylene & Rommel, Jordan & Lena; grandkids- Michelle, Ian, Elaine, Donavan, Elijah, Jordan II, Beau, & Stephen; father- Benito; & sister- Josie.
Jaime was born on July 15th, 1951, in Manila, Philippines and later moved to Guam in 1966 with his family and grew up in a large family with his siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins. He enlisted with the U.S. Army in 1969 and was stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado with Battery C of the 6th Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment. On January 26th, 1974, he married Baby Rosario Dane and celebrated 48 years of love and happiness until his passing. He obtained a degree in Engineering and worked for over 30 years at Guam Water Works as an Engineer and Procurement officer until his retirement.
Jaime is a devoted husband and father; he always kept his family close through difficult decisions and difficult times to ensure their safety and well-being. As his children grew into adulthood with families of their own, his priorities were on his wife, father, and grandchildren. That when he retired, he moved to California to be closer to family, spoil his grand-kids, and care for the well-being of his own father. His friends and family know him to be the jokester of the bunch, always making light of any situation with funny remarks or actions. He was always the funny uncle. We would forever remember his restaurant joke when a waitress would ask how he likes his eggs, and he would always reply “I like them hanging”. His outgoing and contagious personality with those he has befriended will truly be missed.
Jaime is welcomed at the gates of heaven by his mother, Maximina & older brother, Herminio. May they rest in peace and enjoy their eternal life next to our lord and savior.
