Jazzmine Orona, born July 1st 1995 had such a strong & free spirit growing up. Since Jazzmine was a little girl, she always had her head in her books. My little girl always knew what & who she wanted to be. In December 2010, Jazzmine was diagnosed with Lupus. This was then when my daughter's strength began to shine. As a Sophomore in high school Jazzmine had to then deal some hospitalization from time to time but never let her illness hold her back from her schooling. After Graduating with the Class 2013 from Rialto High School Jazzmine Then started her journey at Cal State San Bernardino studying for her bachelors in Science to become a doctor. While attending, she got the opportunity to have a job in the administration office helping students with questions on things like classes, books, financial aid etc. Jazzmine's boss Bea Larez said she was such a great worker & got the job done!
While keeping a positive attitude in everything she was doing, Jazzmine was still fighting her battle of lupus. Soon enough her lupus started to take over. My daughter was hospitalized more frequently, given different medications, & eventually had to start Chemo. But once again Jazzmine was not letting it interfere with her education & new job. As she was in the hospital she still did assignments, studied for any test & tried to make it to work as much as she can.
As her illness worsened, Jazzmine still happened to think of everyone's feelings first. She never wanted to worry people or to let anyone know she was hurt but deep down in my heart I knew my daughter was tired.
I sit here & think of what is determination, courage, & strength. In my eyes that is my daughter Jazzmine & she will forever be my motivation. Jazzmine's bright personality, loving heart, warm smile will always remain in the heart of her loved ones & myself. My daughter will never be forgotten!
