Jeffrey Carl “Jeff” Netcell passed away into the loving arms of Jesus, August 12, 2021. He was born in Long Beach, CA, to his loving parents John and Lori Netcell on April 21, 1960. He and his family lived in Norwalk and Bellflower, CA, before moving to Yucaipa, CA in 1966. As a young kid, he loved taking cross country trips with his parents and siblings to visit family in Iowa. He was raised Catholic and attended Holy Mass on Sundays with his family. He continued to embrace his Catholic faith as his parents, and remained faithful and prayerful the rest of his life. He graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1979, and began his lifelong career with CAL Fire/CDF in 1981 as a Paid Call Firefighter promoting to Firefighter/EMT in 1982. He met the love of his life and future wife, Margaret R. Sanchez in 1987 in Redlands, CA. After 5 of years of dating, we were married on June 6, 1992. We shared and were blessed with 34 years together. We moved to Apple Valley, CA, where we were blessed with our adorable son Jeffrey Carl Jr. on Mother’s Day, May 9, 1993. On December 30, 2011, our son blessed us with our precious grandson, Jeffrey Blaine; who was the apple of his Papa’s eye! Jeff was a dedicated member of the CAL Fire family for 35 Seasons retiring in 2012. Jeff never lost his passion for fighting fires and came out of retirement in 2014 and began a 7-year career with Hunot Retardant Co., as a “loader” filling DC-10’s and all air tankers with Phoschek Fire Retardant; until his passing. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting everything trains which he established quite a collection. He enjoyed taking road trips to Laughlin and Las Vegas, NV, and going on the Knights of Columbus turn-around trips with Momma Lori to the local Indian Casinos. He was a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lakers and Rams! For those of you who had the pleasure of hanging out with him and cheering on his fav teams, we all got to experience his “Mighty Roar” when they scored or won the game!! He loved Rock-N-Roll and Country music but his all-time favorite was Smooth Jazz, which he and I attended many concerts with family over the years. He loved cooking and spending family time hanging out by the pool, barbequing, playing horseshoes, listening to music and watching his beloved Dodgers and Lakers win the Championships! Jeff had a “Heart of Gold” and was the most kind, affectionate and loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife Margaret Netcell, son Jeffrey C. Netcell Jr. (Kaili), grandson Jeffrey Blaine Netcell, sister Terri Mason (Steve), brother Phil Netcell (Kimberly), Aunt Lillian Duncan and Uncle Ken Gleason (Jackie), of Iowa; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeff will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and will be deeply missed.
