Jesus De Jesus Jimenez

Nuestro querido y adorado Jesús “Chuy” nació en Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, y fué el sexto hijo de Maria Natividad De Jesús Esquivel y José Jimenez Núnes, el 15 de Septiembre, 1954. En sus tiempos de adolescente, Jesús pasaba la mayoría de su tiempo yendo a la escuela y juntandose con los amigos del barrio, algunos de los cuales se convirtieron en familia. Guadalajara También fué el lugar donde conocio a su futura esposa, Martha. Ellos Vivian en la misma cuadra y se conocian. Chiva Hermano de corazón, a Jesús le gustaba el fútbol. A él le apodaban “el mini moto” porque corria muy rápido.

Aún cuando le encantaba divertirse, Chuy empezó a trabajar mucho desde muy joven. El pasaba mucho tiempo ayudando a su mamá a vender comida. Se iba en el camión al Centro a vender tortas. No hace falta decir que era muy popular en su barrio.

Jesús siempre quiso tener una vida mejor para él, sus padres y su familia en Mexico. A los 24 años, en 1978, Chuy decidió dejar su hogar y venirse al Norte en busca de una vida mejor. Mientras trabajaba en Los Angeles, se volvió a encontrar con el amor de su vida, Marta G. Cuevas. Ellos comenzaron a noviar, se casaron en 1980 comenzaron su familia y tuvieron tres hijos: Jesús, Blanca y Paul. Decidido a proveer para su familia, Chuy hizo trabajillos hasta que finalmente encontró éxito en la industria de la costura. Jesús, siempre con impulso y mucho trabajo, logró hacer lo que queria, como lo queria y a donde queria ir. En 1994, se convirtió en el dueño único de una compañia de ropa en Los Angeles, la cual llamó Yes Cutting Services, trabajando con compañias como Bongo, Calvin Klein, CROSS COLORS, Lee and Lei Jeans.

Gracias a su arduo trabajo y tesón, su esposa Marta y sus hijos disfrutaron una vida cómoda. Además, Jesús nunca olvidó su familia en México: sus padres, hermanos y hermanas. Los logros de Jesús nunca lo cambiaron, es más lo hicieron más humilde y desinteresado. El ayudaba a quien lo necesitara y a veces ayudó a gente que casi no conocia porque el queria lo mejor para todos.

Jesús era muy ingenioso y siempre encontaba maneras de mejorar su vida: fué dueño de diferentes propiedades, trailers y se convirtio en dueño operario. La música fué otro de sus amores en su vida. Jesús tenia varias guitarras, tambores y escuchaba música a diario. Cuando estaba joven, él también fué miembro de un grupo musical llamado “Why Not”. El siempre bromeaba con sus hijos y decía…”Yo podria haber sido tan grande como Los Beatles, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, etc… pero no más llegó tu mamá y se acabó todo”. Luego se reía y les decía que estaba bromeando.

Jesus disfrutaba el estar afuera. Le encantaba la playa y hacer sus proyectos. Si no sabía como hacerlo, de seguro que lo aprendía. Siempre hizo las cosas muy a su manera y era bien independiente. Jesús era muy generoso, desinteresado, ocurrente, divertido, el Alma de la fiesta pero sobretodo, fue un buen esposo, padre, abuelo, hermano, hijo y amigo. El disfrutó sus últimos días haciendo lo que más le gustaba, pasarsela con su familia, al aire libre, haciendo sus proyectos en la casa, tocando su música y tomandose una bien fría.

Chuy será extrañado por muchos, pero estará por siempre en un lugar muy especial en nuestros corazones.

Our dearly beloved Jesus “Chuy” was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and he was the sixth child of Maria Natividad De Jesus Esquivel and Jose Jimenez Nunes, on September 15, 1954. In his adolescence years Jesus spent most of his time going to school, hanging out in the barrio with friends, some of which became family. Guadalajara was also the place where he met his future wife, Martha. They lived on the same block and knew of each other. Hard core Chiva Hermano, Jesus enjoyed soccer. They even called him “el mini moto” because he was such a fast runner.

Even when he loved having fun, he started working hard at a young age, he would spend a lot of time helping his mom by selling food. He would take the bus to go to El Centro to sell tortas. Needless to say he was very popular in his barrio.

Jesus always wanted a better life for himself, his parents and family in Mexico. At the age of 24, in 1978 Jesus decided to leave his home and came to the States in search of a better life. While working in Los Angeles, he crossed paths with the love of his life again, Martha G. Cuevas. They began dating and married in 1980 and started a family and had 3 children: Jesus, Blanca and Paul. Determined to provide for his family, he worked odd jobs until finally found success in the garment industry. Jesus was very driven and fought hard for what he wanted and where he wanted to go in his career. In 1994, he became sole owner of a garment company in Los Angeles which he then named YES Cutting Services, working with companies like Bongo, Calvin Klein, CROSS COLOURS, Lee and Lei Jeans.

Because of his hard work and passion, his wife Martha and their children enjoyed a comfortable life and Jesus never forgot about his family in Mexico: his parents, brothers and sisters. The success Jesus had never changed him, if anything he became humbler and more selfless. He helped those who needed him, sometimes also helped people he barely even knew because he always wanted the best for everyone.

Jesus was very resourceful and always found ways to better his life: He was homeowner of different properties, trucks and even became an owner operator. Music was one of Jesus many loves in life. He owned several guitars, drum sets and listened to music daily. He was even a member of a band when he was younger, named “Why Not”. He always joked with his children and said… I” could have been as big as The Beatles, John Lennon, Paul McCartney etc. Pero no mas llego tu mama y se acabo todo”, He would then laugh and tell his kids he was joking.

Jesus also enjoyed being outdoors. He loved the beach and DIY projects. If he did not know how to do or make something, rest assured he would learn. He always did things on his own way and fiercely independent. Muy a su manera y bien independiente.

Jesus was a very generous, selfless, spunky, fun and loving person, the life of the party; but most of all he was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and son and friend. He enjoyed his last days doing what he loved the most, being with his family, spending time outdoors and working on projects around the house, jamming to his music and drinking a cold one.

Chuy will be deeply missed by many, but will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
