

Kenneth J. Pruiksma passed away February 3 in his home, surrounded by family. ‘Ken’ was born in San Bernardino and grew up in Rialto where he graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1971. He then began his career with Southern California Edison, received an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and then moved into a position as Crane Operator where he remained until his retirement in 2016. He was a resident of Calimesa, Ca for the last 26 years.
Ken was a member of the NRA and loved his collection of guns and going shooting with friends and family. His additional interests included fishing, camping, boating and building model airplanes, boats, and helicopters. He was quite proud of his elaborate HO train city that he had been working on for over two decades with detailed craftsmanship including running lights and functional loading docks and factories.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his father Sieger ‘Bud’ Pruiksma, son Kenneth James Pruiksma Jr. and his longtime companion of 24 years Angela Cambroto. He is survived by his mother Arlene Friel of Fresno, son and daughter in law Joshua & Myndi Pruiksma of Crestline, daughter and son in law Heather Biel & Steve Copley of Running Springs, two brothers and sisters in law Michael and Holly Pruiksma of Texas and Robert and Kathy Pruiksma of Yucaipa, one sister Patricia Harper of Fresno, as well as several granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons, three nephews, two nieces and his beloved dog D’Artagnan.
Friends and Family are encouraged to come out to celebrate and remember Ken - Services will be held at 12:30pm on Monday March 21 at Montecito Mortuary - Cypress Chapel located at 3520 East Washington St, Colton, CA with graveside services to immediately follow.
