Lawrence (Larry aka “The Compa”) Nieves Jr. passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Larry was a lifelong resident of South Colton. He was the eldest son of Lawrence and Lillie Nieves Sr.
Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years Lucy Marie Nieves, his children, Michael and Angelica Cruz, Daniel and Yvonne Lopez, Francine Nieves and Lawrence (LJ) Nieves, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 siblings, Ronnie and Marietta Nieves, Linda Luna, Daniel and Arlene Estrada.
Larry worked for Matich Corporation as an Operator Engineer for 35 years, retired in 2011. He was a member of San Salvador Church and Knights of Columbus.
Larry was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Friend (Compa). He was a very compassionate and humble man. He took pride in himself and his family. He enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time with family and friends and attending church.
We are going to miss him dearly.
