Born December 18, 1956 in La Barca Jalisco Mexico, to Jose Montiel and Maria Guardian.
She was the second child born out of seven children, Clara being the oldest, then herself, Jose Luis, Clemente, Ana, Jesus and Mercy.
Lourdes lived in Jalisco during her childhood years, and in 1968came to the united states with all her family. They lived in East L.A. for a short period of time. Then moved to La Puente in 1969, where she spent most of her teenage years. She attended La Puente High School and soon after graduation met and married Melecio Ibarra, on June 11, 1975.
Through their marriage of thirty six years, were born three daughters, Isabel, Monica and Melissa, whom, she was very proud of. She loved and cared for them and always encouraged them to be their best.
Through the years married to Melecio they lived in different cities and made many friends. She was a very warm and loving person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She always had an open door to help, and bring in those that were in need, bringing in those family members to her home so they would feel loved and welcome as she showed them how to enjoy family time.
Through the years she worked hard helping her husband run his own business. She spent many years baby- sitting some of her nieces and nephews while their moms worked, and soon became the favorite Tia. She always had a word of wisdom to share with those around her.
She also worked for a few years in different companies where she met and made many friends, some who might be here today. During the holidays her house became the center point where everyone came to be with one another. She liked to cook big pots of caldo when she knew that the family was getting together, and always tried to send you home with a little bit of what she had cooked, because there was always plenty.
She enjoyed spending time gardening, and caring for plants that she would collect from different places that she visited. Her main focus at home was to care for her husband and always made sure there was food made for him when he came home from work.
Through her daughter’s marriages she became a grandma to six grandchildren: Miguel, Sophia, Manuel, Andy, Jaime and Melanie the youngest whom she loved, and dedicated herself to the well being of them all.
Lourdes was an outstanding daughter, a loving wife, loving mother, beloved grandma, loved sister, and a caring Aunt, and to friends a great friend.
She will be missed!!
