Our loving Ma, Lucille, or Kiki as her family called her, was born on April 25, 1933, in her childhood home at Spruce St. during the evening while the bells rang out at the nearby Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 7pm for the Rosary, seemingly announcing the arrival of Ma. She was the 6th born child of her father Santos Pimental Solorio from La Piedad, Michoacán, Mexico and her mother Susana Leon Bernal Solorio from Pueblo Nuevo, Guanajuato, Mexico. Ma and her siblings were all born and raised in San Bernardino, California. Ma did live in Colton from 1961 to 2005 and in Banning the last years of her life. As a young girl she loved to help her mom clean house, a habit she carried all her life, and some of her children inherited that trait. As a youngster, she and her sister Connie and other girl friends of the barrio would play baseball in a field by the church. She attended Ramona and Alessandro Schools. She married Roman M. Aguilar on November 9, 1949, in Yuma, Arizona. Ma gave birth to 3 sons and 5 daughters from 1950 to 1972. She conscientiously did her motherly duties by taking care of us and raising us as Catholics. She always made sure we had food and clean clothes. She was always there for important life events: school conferences and assemblies, graduations, weddings, birthdays, holidays, dentist/doctor appointments, and the births of our children. She gave us a lot of love. She enjoyed funny TV shows and movies and surprisingly, she also liked horror movies. She liked finding the humor in things. She loved sharing stories and memories of her life growing up with her parents, siblings. and other relatives. She liked listening to Mexican music and watching Spanish language programs. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles. She really enjoyed shopping at her favorite stores and especially liked window shopping during the holidays. Her favorite shopping partner was our late Aunt Beatrice. She was religious and said the Rosary daily. She was a big presence in our lives, and we were fortunate to have had her as our Ma for 90 plus years. The hand of God took her from us on the evening of April 13th. She is predeceased by her husband Roman and her son Fernando. She is survived by 2 sons, Gabriel (Margaret) and Roman; and 5 daughters, Arleen, Sylvia, Rosemary (Jeff), Vivian, and Susan (Eliot). She also is survived by 23 grandchildren: Andrea, Thomas, Carrie, Caressa, Roman lll, Annette, Laurie, Ernie Jr., Alexis, Paul Jr., Christopher, Trevor, Nicole, Danelle, Valerie, Matthew, Joshua, Andrew, Freddie Jr., Yazmyn, Jacqlyn, Ava, and Arick and 15 great grandchildren. We will all miss her tremendously, but we all have our fond memories of our lives with Ma and we will keep her in our hearts as we live on. Her legacy is her family. Rest In Peace Ma. Rest in Peace Kiki. Rest in Peace Grandma.
