Margarito found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep passion for gardening, where he nurtured vibrant blooms, and he relished the art of cooking, creating delicious meals that brought his family together. An avid reader, he immersed himself in stories, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren were the lights of his life.
A devout Catholic, Margarito attended Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, where he not only exchanged vows with the love of his life, Maria, but also baptized his children there. Together, they crafted a beautiful life over the span of 55 years—one filled with love, faith, and lasting memories.
Margarito was predeceased by his beloved grandson of 27 years, Brandon Meza. He also mourned the loss of his parents, Bernardino Briceño & Timotea Calzada, many brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews, godparents as well as his father-in-law, Enrique Campos, his mother-in-law, Teresa Molina, and his brother-in-law, Santos Rosas. Along with many other beloved ones who went before him.
Left behind to carry on his loving spirit are his devoted wife, Maria, and their daughters Carmen, Anna, Gema, Diana (affectionately known as Mary), and his son Hernán. Their family circle includes many other cherished relatives who all benefited from Margarito's loving influence.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible caregivers who played such a vital role in Margarito's life as he navigated the different stages of Alzheimer's. Their unwavering support provided not only essential care with dignity, but it allowed Margarito to remain in the sanctuary of his home, where he felt most at ease. The family is eternally thankful for those relatives who traveled near and far to spend precious time with him; those visits brightened his final days.
Margarito's nurturing heart, infectious smile, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed by all whose lives he touched. He left an indelible mark on each person who had the honor of knowing him, and his legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
