Born in 1929, second child in the union of William and Rosanna Bramble of Delvins Montserrat, Marjorie grew up in a household with 8 brothers and sisters: Thomas, Cerise, Mary, Arthur, Melvin, Donald, Eunice, and Josephine. She also maintained a close relationship with eldest brother, son to William Bramble, Peter Bramble of Trinidad. The house was small and the income meager and Marjorie vowed to do her best to help sustain the family. A nurse at 17 years old, she was able to provide some of her siblings with their first pair of shoes. She worked tirelessly to help keep food on the table and carried that industrious, “never say never” attitude throughout her life.
Married to Alfred Joseph, they both spent early working years in Great Britain along with several of their siblings but always yearned for the innocent living of the islands. Marjorie returned home to continue her mission and career as a nurse in 1962.The family spent most of their growing years in Molyneaux and Dyers village.
