Mary L. Sager

Mary Lou Sager, of Riverside, California, peacefully departed this life on May 9, 2015. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Edna Mae Mennes , her sister Patty Bacca, and her husbands (from both of whom she was widowed), Gordon Martin and Lloyd Sager.

Born in Glendale, CA on July 16, 1929, Mary graduated from high school in Fullerton, CA and attended Cal State Fullerton. She choreographed and taught dance for 9 years at The Richards-Martin School of Dance in Anaheim where her mother, Mae, played piano. Mary and Gordon were married for 9 years and had one son, Kim, before Gordon passed away. Mary and Lloyd were married in 1960, and for the next 31 years, they raised a wonderful family, while operating several PIP printing stores, which they owned throughout San Bernardino County. For over 20 years, Mary was an avid supporter of The Literacy Council and volunteered as a tutor of English as a Second Language. Mary is remembered for her delightful humor, her talent as a dancer, keyboardist, and teacher, her keen eye for decorating, and especially for her ease with people, as she “never met a stranger”.

Mary lovingly devoted her life to her family. Left to carry on her beautiful memory are her sons Kim Martin and wife Lena, Glenn Sager and wife Diane, her daughter Holly Sager, and step-daughter Christine Sager Deeble, her grandchildren Eric Martin, David Martin, Rheanne Sager, Hailey Sager, step-grandson Randal Deeble, and her great-grandchildren Kierra, Anton, Cole, and Rock Martin.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the years of loving care and friendship which the dedicated team of caregivers at Sunrise Canyon Crest, and for the past 2 months Vitas Hospice, so earnestly provided.
