Minga Andaya was born in Guerrero, Mexico, and later began her life with her children in California. She will be remembered as a strong, independent, and highly ambitious woman—determined and filled with the love of Christ. A natural entrepreneur and hardworking by nature, Minga accomplished so much throughout her life.
She loved her morning walks and sit-ups, exploring the trails and paths of her home state of Guerrero, working on her family ranch and harvesting the fruits of her labor along with cooking her children’s and grandchildren’s favorite dishes. She also enjoyed dancing, singing and dressing up at every occasion possible. When she wasn’t in California, she cherished her time in Morelia, Mexico, or in her beloved safe haven, Guayameo, Guerrero.
Above all, Minga was a devoted mother and sister. Her faith and love for God were the driving forces in her life—she was a proud and devoted Catholic. Her beautiful voice, a gift from God, was used to entertain family and friends and to sing praises of glory and honor to Him.
She will be deeply missed, but her faith, teachings, and love will live on in all of us. We will strive to carry forward her legacy and embrace the heart and grace she exemplified until her final moments.
Minga is survived by her children Christina, Maribel, Patty, Janet, and Franco, and her beloved grandchildren Celeste, Demetre, Jaxton, Zayden, and Sahvanna. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
