

Born on September 19, 1923 in Nanning, China. Passed away peacefully on May 15, 2016 in Fresno, CA. She is the fourth of nine children. She married Wallace Chan on September 24, 1944. Daughter Alice was born in 1945, Son Henry was born in 1949 and daughter Joyce was born in 1951.
Seven grandchildren, Stefanie, Jason and Justin Lam; Brian and Randy Chan; Matthew and Nathan Davidson. Eight great grandchildren Alyssa, Brandon and Blake Lam; Kaylee Lam; Solomon, Isaac, Evelyn and Vivian Chan.
In 1958, her husband was elected to be a representative for the China Division of the General Conference Session in the United States. After the Session, he was invited to hold an evangelistic series in San Francisco, CA. In November 1959 she and her children immigrated to the United States. The Evangelistic Meetings were a big success. In May 1960 he was invited to start a new Chinese Seventh–day Adventist Church in Los Angeles, CA. In 1963, he returned to San Francisco to pastor the Chinese Seventh-day Adventist Church there until he retired from pastoral work in 1975.
She and her husband went to work for the Pacific Press in Mountain View, CA. In 1986 when the Press moved, they retired to Loma Linda, CA. She moved to Torrance, CA in 2005, and finally to Fresno, CA in 2011.
Preceded in death by her husband, Wallace in 1991; 2 older sisters, one older brother and 4 younger brothers; and her daughter, Alice Lam in 2011.
She is now in God’s hands and in the company of many family and friends who have gone before her. She lived a very full and happy life and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
