Philip John Wilkinson, known to most as “Phil”, was born in Fullerton, Ca on June 05, 1963. He passed away on Sept. 12, 2025 surrounded by his family. Phil was born the 7th child out of 8 to his loving parents Robert and Irene Wilkinson. He grew up going to Catholic school, and was an altar boy at his church. After he graduated high school he moved away for college and received his Bachelor’s degree at Cal State Hayward. This started his long career in Retail management.
One of his first jobs was working at K-mart. He started as a cart boy and moved his way up through the ranks to become a Store Manager. Phil made it to Store Manager for Kmart in 1993. From his first store in Hesperia, Ca to his last store in Lancaster, Ca he received multiple awards and changed many lives. Phil retired from Kmart after 25 years of working for them. He went on to manage a few different stores, and finished his career with his dream government job with the Coast Guard Exchange. He was so proud of his accomplishments throughout his career as was anyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Antonise, his children Antonise Kayla, Brittany, Philip Justin and Cheyenne. His siblings, Robert (Josie) Wilkinson, Irene (Dan) Detering, Jim (Kathy), Mary, Jean, Bill (Ellen), David. Many Nieces and Nephews, their spouses and children. Godchildren Rose and Anthony.
He loved his family and always spoke highly of them. Of course there were the stories of siblings being siblings, but he never had a bad thing to say about any one of them, he loved them with all of his being. This also included the many nieces and nephews that he has. Known to them as “Uncle Bubblehead”, he would make sure that when he was around them they had a good time. His goal was to always make them laugh and just have fun.
When Phil became a husband and father the love just came through in everything he did in life. He made every single day in their lives the best he could. From taking family trips so they could all have new experiences to staying home and watching movies. Phil was the best part of their lives and they loved him just as much if not more, Phil will forever be loved and missed by all.
Phil also made so many friends throughout the years, many of which he was still in contact with. Anyone who knew Phil knew they were lucky to be in his life.
