Richard Matthew Antunez Sr (my Dad) was a loving, kind, sometime’ s peaceful man. I’m sure we can all vouch for that, He was super funny, he knew how to make us all laugh, even when it wasn’t his intention’s, I’m sure we all shared a moment or maybe even a few moments to where he made us all laugh. I remember having so many different conversations with him and him telling me “ when you have my funeral I don’t want everyone crying and on the floor” he was crazy, I told him dad you can’t control how people react he said “oh yes I can” I’d laugh, he would say “OH Jesus” looking back on those conversation i was praying that day would never come seeing my dad had 9 lives, but it looks like Jesus wanted him to come home and he has fulfilled his purpose here on earth, looking back on his life God has shown us how much he truly loves us by using him as that example. God has shown us his power of grace, mercy, forgiveness, love, peace, and most importantly strength and perseverance. My dad is one of the strongest individual’s I will ever know and to see him be strong through it all always amazed me, through it all, some of us knew what my dad’s struggles were in his life, faith wasn’t one of them, he believed God could do it all, and I agree he can. So, as we prepare to lay his body to rest, his spirit has already gone to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, the bible says, 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 8 says We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. I for one truly believe my dad is walking along side with Jesus at this very moment, on the streets of gold, which he called the “yellow brick road” with his ruby slippers, he was a true high character man. which gives me peace and clarity, also knowing he no longer is in any pain or any suffering. I’m thankful he is free and free at last.
Thank you.
