Guy leaves behind numerous relatives i.e. aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, friends, business associates and his Barter family.
• Joined the United States Air Force In 1959, 9+ years, this included being stationed in Madrid, Spain.
• Earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA.
• Married Josie F. Clark in 1969 who brought to this union a Son Wendell Clark
• Daughter Channel David was born 1987
• Was a Youth Counselor for the Department of Youth Authority from which he medically retired.
• Studied hard and became a Glazier establishing his business as G & J Enterprises.
• Charter member #6 for The Barter Exchange that was established in 1967 by Tony DeLaTorre.
• A member & servant of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for many years.
• Served in the New Hope Tape Ministry for over 20 years.
• Served as Minister for prayer, salvation, deliverance, healing for The Whole Counsel of Christ, Inc. when it was operated in Glendale, CA.
• Held office of President since 2004 for “The Whole Counsel of Christ, Inc.”, that is pastored by
Evangeline (Vangie) Seveses.
• Held prayer meetings in his own home for 5+ years and was always available to pray for folks on an individual and as needed basis. Guy would never refuse to pray for others and in his words; “I will never refuse prayer because I can use all the prayer(s) I can get.”
Guy was often described by many as a “MAN’S MAN” as his walk with Jesus was a true example of being “CHRIST LIKE.” He would say that he would never be lonely because our Heavenly Father was always with him and if he needed someone to talk to, God was always there to listen.
Guy often preached/shared an example of feeding the Spiritual Man. He would often say:
“You wouldn’t let your physical body go hungry to the point of becoming a skeleton, would you?
So why would you not feed your spiritual man with The Word of God to keep it healthy?”
Guy was a man of integrity, professional, dependable, accountable, responsible, resourceful, respectful, honest, trustworthy, moral, ethical, a mentor, a teacher, a coach, caring, loving and all the other accolades a person can think of.
God blessed him twice to go back to Omaha to visit Anna Ventry and other family members, and to spend two weeks in April 2017 to visit Daughter Channel and her family in Romulus, Michigan.
Guy reveled in pride over his Daughter Channel’s:
• Her union in July, 2015 to Kurt Glaspie at the Hoover Dam in Nevada.
• Her graduation and receipt of her degree in Michigan in June of 2016.
Guy is preceded in death by his Father Roosevelt David, Mother Florida Joseph, wife Josie Clark, step-son Wendell Clark, Sisters Cecelia McFadden, Esther Kellogg, Marie David and Brother Paul David.
