Rosamond Smith

Rosamond Smith, 71 years old, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2011 after a battle with cancer, She was born May 1, 1939 in Westmeath, Ontario, Canada and came to California in 1961. She was married for 37 years to James Smith, who preceded her in death. She was a registered nurse for 50 years, working most of those years at Pomona Valley Medical Center. After retiring in 2002, she moved to Loma Linda, to be closer to family. She enjoyed reading and needlework and was a longtime member of St. Joseph the Worker parish. She is survived by her children: Kaireen Simonsen (Sam), Stephanie Fierro (Narci), Melanie Nava-Pulley (Charles), Michael (Julie), and James (Kim); grand children Jessie, Kristen, Alexandria, Tyler, Jaime, Ashlee, Patrick, Austin, Connor, Brenna, and Kayla; sisters Ann, Dale, Carol; brothers Raymond (Edna), Wayne (Darlyne), Christopher (Connie); and many, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Florence, brother Larry, sister Leah and niece Samantha. She will be greatly missed, but will live in our hearts forever.

visitation and Rosary will be March 9, 2011, from 4pm to 8pm, (Rosary at 6:30 pm) at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3520 East Washington St., Colton, CA 92324.

Funeral Mass will be held March 10, 2011 11:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Church,10816 Mountain View Ave. Loma Linda, CA 92354.
