

Rosie Failalo Afutiti, Age 60, passed away at City of Hope in Duarte, California, on Tuesday July 19th, 2016 at 8:32 pm from a long battle with Aplastic Anemia. After surviving multiple invasive operations, her life was cut short by the inability of her heart to withstand the constant strain of this rare blood cancer.
Born January 18, 1956 in Apia, Samoa, Rosie and her family traveled to the states (1981) living in Compton, Diamond Bar, Rowland Heights, Whittier, and Pomona before settling in Fontana, California where she purchased a permanent home for her family. Rosie devoted most of her time serving the lord by supporting her husband in his church callings as well as her continuous compassionate service for others. A devout wife, mother and grandmother, she loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, whether it was playing cards, mahjong or sitting around talking and laughing; her family meant the world to her.
Survivors include her loving eternal companion of 41 years Salamina Toleafoa Afutiti, her children, Bryan Aukuso Afutiti, Henrietta Seila Pantoja (Spouse Marcelo), Joshua Toshimasa Afutiti (Spouse Emily), Salamina Jay Afutiti, Hilda Tusipepa Fonua (Spouse Christian), Bernard Tuia Afutiti (Spouse Crystal), Harriet Ariel Mesepa Afutiti, 10 grand-children - Kayla belle Pantoja, Romeo Jonah Pantoja, Micah Leautuli Afutiti, Shlayna Fa’ava Fonua, Zak Sione Tuia Afutiti, Isaac Afutiti, Seiseira Rosie Fonua, Kai Afutiti, Sofia Inabeth Fonua, Savannah Hope Fonua. 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
Services for Rosie will be held 9:00am on July 25th, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints 1375 N Willow Ave, Rialto, CA 92376. The burial will be held at Montecito Memorial Park3520 E Washington St, Colton, CA 92324 following the services.
