He was surrounded by family and so much love. He is proceeded in death by his father (Manuel Villagran). Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Valerie and their two sons, Adrian, and Andrew (and wife, Jamie), and three grandchildren Iris, Reiley and Ayden. He is also survived by his mother Maura Villagran, Aunt Carmen and his three siblings, Miriam, Guillermo, and Renee. Although Rudy has joined the Lord in everlasting peace, he remains an active member of our hearts, living on in the love he instilled into everyone he came into contact with.
Rudy (Gilberto Rodolfo) Villagran was born on August 1st, 1961, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, where he lived with his mother, father, aunt, and two siblings before immigrating to the United States. Rudy joined the US Air force at 18 years of age where he faithfully served until retiring in 2001. While in the service, Rudy met and married Valerie Ann (formally Razo), and had their two sons, Adrian, and Andrew.
The Villagran’s were first stationed at Norton AFB in San Bernardino and then Hickam AFB in Hawaii and the last base Edwards AFB in Southern California. Upon retiring Rudy continued to work for USAF by working as a QA Inspector at EAFB till his passing. Rudy made countless lifelong friends on all three bases he was stationed at, but he held family above all else and enjoyed spending time with them. Rudy fathered two children, but pseudo adopted many since the family moved to Rialto CA in 2001. He was a mentor too many.
He was a great man who enjoyed his life to the fullest and held many interests. Throughout his life, Rudy carried with him a love of music, where he attended multiple concerts with his wife and family. Rudy enjoyed watching and attending Lakers, Dodgers, and Raiders games, where he made it a priority to tailgate with his two sons, family, and friends on a yearly basis. Rudy loved the old classic movies and comedy shows he would rewatch the same movies over and over and never get tired of them. He loved going on yearly vacations with his family.
Even in his later years, Rudy enjoyed staying physically fit, going to the gym multiple times a week, and going on walks with his ever-loving dog, Gir. In the last couple of years, Rudy settled into staying at home, being with his wife and children. Rudy was an active participant in the upbringing of his grandsons and was afforded the opportunity to meet his first granddaughter Iris before he passed.
