Shirley Mae Tyler was born June 12, 1941 in Chicago Illinois to the late Joseph Tyler and Minnie Bell Tyler who she loved dearly. She was a secretary where she always told stories about work and how she was very good at using a typewriter. She married the late Kenneth Ellis and Lolita Ellis was born. She spent time in Miami Florida where she had many friends and spoke of how she loved to fish on the pier, loved music and salsa dancing. Shirley moved to California in the 80s and took on jobs in retail and met and married the late David C. Bass.
Fond memories of Shirley Mae Bass will be her love for the Lord, who she always trusted in, bowling, cross word puzzles, the song Feels Good by Toni Toni Tone, and her sharp memory. Shirley would tell a story about her past and one with you in it and will remember every detail even when you didn’t. She made you feel as if you were a part of the story as if you were right there with her. These memories will be shared by her sister Inez Tyler, brother Raymond Tyler daughters Lolita Ellis, Valencia and Chandra Bass, nieces Minnie Gandy, Christine Tyler, Denise Minor, Jane Marie Collins, family James Morris and best friend Phyllis Williams, along with many more siblings, nieces, cousins and friends.
To my dearest sister rest in peace - Inez Tyler
