Sipriana Vidana Lira

Anita, as she liked to be called by family and friends was born in Durango, Mexico on September 26, 1943 to Mother; Paula Diaz and Father; Julio Vidaña, she was one of ten children. The family moved from Durango to Juarez, Mexico when she was ten years old, there she grew up and met the lover of her life, her husband of 58 years, Zacarias Lira. They married when she was 21 years old and soon started a family. She is survived by her husband Zacarias and four children Estela, Armando, Luciano and Sandra.

She started her married life in Juarez, Mexico, and then moved to El Paso, Texas. In 1970, she moved to Norther California, where she lived and raised her family. There she worked alongside her husband to help support the family. She was a go-getter, a loving mother, and one of the best housekeeper you will ever know. She took pride in all she did and thought her children to do the same. She could make any room look like it belong in a magazine with her decorating style. Her gardening skills were like no other, she could make plants grow on rocks. She loved to dance; she had music in her soul, we always knew she would be the one to start the dance at any party.

In 1976, she moved with her family from Norther to Southern California, where they found a home and settled in Ontario. There she raised her three children and had her fourth child. She became a grandma at age 45 and soon discovered that was the Best Job Ever. She has a total of 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She watched each one of her grandchildren at one time or another; she was the best babysitter you could ask for. She loved attending their school events, graduations, sports competitions and anything else they were involved in.

She loved to travel; seeing new places always excited her. She loved her trip to Germany, so much that she went twice. She was able to attended a National Jehovah Witness Convention in Germany, went on a cruise to Mexico and recently did a road trip to Nebraska. She was an outdoors person, loved being out in nature, driving up to the mountains, getting in the water and walking in the snow with no shoes.

Anita was a woman of strong character, conviction, held herself to a higher standard and had the same expectation of her children, grandchildren and anyone around her. She loved her family above all and there was nothing that she would not do for us. She taught us to be strong, work hard and never give up. She would always say, “Life is not easy, but you can make it whatever you want”. Her school experience was very limited, but she was the smartest person we ever knew, her life skills and drive made her a scholar in every sense of the word.

If you had the opportunity to be around her, share a conversation, receive advice, give her a hug, or hold her hand, you would know that she was a Lady that had lots of love and compassion for those she came across. There was no job too big or challenge she could not overcome, she was our hero, she was our mother.

Anita, como le gustaba que la llamaran familiares y amigos, nació en Durango, México el 26 de septiembre de 1943 de Madre; Paula Diaz y Padre; Julio Vidaña, era una de diez hijos. La familia se mudó de Durango a Juárez, México cuando ella tenía diez años, allí creció y conoció al amor de su vida, su esposo de 58 años, Zacarias Lira. Se casaron cuando ella tenía 21 años y pronto formaron una familia. Le sobreviven su esposo Zacarias y sus cuatro hijos, Estela, Armando, Luciano y Sandra.

Comenzó su vida de casada en Juárez, México y luego se mudó a El Paso, Texas. En 1970, se mudó al norte de California, donde vivió y crio a su familia. Allí trabajó junto a su esposo para ayudar a mantener a la familia. Ella era una emprendedora, una madre amorosa y una de las mejores ama de casa que jamás hayas conocido. Se enorgullecía de todo lo que hacía y les enseño a sus hijos a hacer lo mismo. Ella podía hace que cualquier habitación pareciera pertenecer en una revista con su estilo de decoración. Sus habilidades de jardinería eran como ninguna otra, podía hacer crecer plantas en las piedras. Le encantaba bailar; ella tenía música en su alma. Siempre sabíamos que ella sería la primera en comenzar el baile en cualquier fiesta.

En 1976, se mudó con su familia del norte al sur de California, donde encontraron un hogar y se establecieron en Ontario. Allí crio a sus tres hijos y tuvo su cuarta hija. Se convirtió en abuela a los 45 años y pronto descubrió que ese era el mejor trabajo de todos los tiempos. Tiene 13 nietos y dos bisnietos. Cuido a cada uno de ellos en un momento u otro; ella era la mejor niñera que podrías pedir. Le encantaba asistir a los eventos escolares, graduaciones, competencias deportivas y cualquier otro evento en el que estuvieran involucrados.

Le encantaba viajar; ver lugres nuevos siempre la emocionaba. Le encantó su viaje a Alemania, tanto que fue dos veces. Pudo asistir a una Convención Nacional de Testigos de Jehová en Alemania, hizo un crucero a México y recientemente hizo un viaje por carretera a Nebraska. Le gustaba siempre andar afuera, le encantaba la naturaleza, conducir hasta las montañas, meterse en el agua y caminar en la nieve sin zapatos.

Anita era una mujer de carácter fuerte, convicción, sus expectativas eran de nivel muy alto y tenía las mismas expectativas para sus hijos, nietos y cualquier persona a su alrededor. Amaba a su familia por encima de todo y no había nada que no hiciera por nosotros. Ella nos enseñó a ser Fuertes, trabajar duro y nunca rendirnos. Ella siempre decía: “ La vida no es fácil, pero puedes hacer lo que quieras”. Su experiencia escolar fue muy limitada, pero era la persona más inteligente que conocimos, sus habilidades para la vida y su impulso la convirtieron en una intelectual en todos los sentidos de la palabra.

Si tuviste la oportunidad de estar cerca de ella, compartir una conversación, recibir un consejo, darle un abrazo o tomar su mano, sabrías que ella era una Dama que tenía mucho amor y compasión por aquellos con quienes se encontraba. No había trabajo demasiado grande o desafío que no pudiera superar, era nuestra héroe, era nuestra madre.
