Dad….  
       It took me 3 and half years to think about what I should and shouldn’t say. I guess I should start off by saying, you have a grandson named Maverick, wolfe, Armitage born on 08/31/21 he’s been a hassle to handle. I miss you so much and I know that maverick would have loved to meet you, and be grandpa’s little helper.

We have not spoken much over the years, but I have always thought of you. You were a great friend, a special person in my life, and a true good-hearted person.  You had a great sense of humor and the goofiest laugh I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. I found out you had passed on tonight, as I looked through the internet to see if I might pick up your phone number again.  I was going to check in, and take comfort in the fact that I knew you. I  do wish I could've spoken to you one more time. This will have to be a poor substitute for that conversation.

Brother, where do i start. You were more than just my brother in law. I love you and Mary. My kids love you. I will always remember all of conversations from kids to animals to dental treatments yeah even your smarty remarks but you made us laugh. Izak (Boy) will never forget the police car that was Uncle Steve's idea and all the smarty remarks you had that made him crack up. Junior (Bunior) was so happy to have you guys see him in his cap and gown and how Uncle Steve could fix anything, how you always saved things for him. Izaiah may not remember but we will definitely tell him. Yesterday was so hard but we all know your in Heaven with Our Lord and Savior. We will miss you greatly my brother.. Luv you lots. Big brother.im so glad i was able to come and spend time with you.looking thru old photos and telling stories.I didnt even mind when you started getting all the laughs( we all know im the funny one)yet in that moment you were! it was amazing! Thank you Steve.you were a good brother to me.You never got mad when i repeatedly stole the Javlin to cruise E st.You even gave me all your Rock n Roll albums you cherished.quite the collection! Last xmas you left a voice mail saying you heard breaking news in Joplin.about someone getting a tree( me) and you laughed. I listened to it today.i smiled!! Uncle Steve,
I'm so glad that I was able to see and talk to you before you left us. It still seems like a dream. The fact that I can't see you now doesn't seem real either. I will always remember our last conversation. It wasn't what I would call mushy or sad. You spoke to me about practical and economical things to do while camping or on a road trip. When you saw the tears starting to well up in my eyes, you told me that you loved me and to not look back. Our conversation reminded me of your fanny pack and how it contained everything that one would need for any situation. I never knew anyone else that ever used a fanny pack, but man, yours held everything. I'll definitely miss bowling with you and using your air tools while we both pretend to be nascar pit guys. I'll miss constantly waking you up while you are driving and watching you get annoyed because you didn't want to admit you were falling asleep. I'll miss being able to have a chat about anything and everything. I'll miss your heart and the person you are. You always treated me like more than a nephew and I'll always remember that. I love you Uncle Steve.

Dear Steve, although your body is not here with us, I hope that in spirit you hear out my goodbye to a good friend I had in you, during the many years I worked with you at the City of Banning.  I will always remember your kindness and concern at the end of the day making sure all was locked up and safe as your shift ended as I stayed behind.  I will always remember how much you were touched by what happened to Miguel and now you are gone too my friend.           I'm so glad I got to see you, hug you, listen to you laugh & tell stories.  It's a trip I won't soon forget, or hear the name Frankie & not think of you.  I wish I got to spend more time with you in your life, but the time I did get I saw a man with a lot of love in his heart for his wife, family, animals and the numerous kids you had a hand in raising. I love you bro, you have inspired me with your life ever since you brought me to Christ in 1979.  I save bugs too.  You have always had a pastors heart encouraging others to do what's right and be Christlike.  As I learn more of who you were in your life and with the people around you I see that pastor and just how amazing you were.  I will do my best to carry on with your message of Christ to our family as you ask of me the last time we spoke. I miss you and Love you. I can see you dancing, worshipping, and laughing in heaven before our Lord, without pain or sorrow. Your message to use I hear you say. Dad... Words cannot express the love I have for you as a father. You have taught me so much and helped me come so far within the 5 years I lived at home with the family. The conversations we had & all the advice you would give me, even though I was a stubborn teen refusing to soak it in. One thing I'll never forget is my first motorcycle ride with you, I always begged you & finally you gave in. & You would always remind of the dream you had right before u got the call 16 years ago, that you & mom would be taking in 3 foster siblings. In the dream a little asian girl came to you needing help.. & we needed both of your help, more than I can ever thank you for. Thank you for stepping up and being our dad, MY dad. The dad I never had & needed. I love you & will forever miss your dorky laugh or refusal to give up anything ever put in ur hands.. From tinker toys to miscellaneous things or animals & kids who needed your help... Miss ya dad...

 I will try not to be sad or angry because that is what you asked of me  the  last day I sat at your bedside. I will be strong and pass on your strenght and wisdom to John, Jason and Ashley, who all feel the same way I do .
