

Tony Hamming, 91, of Crestline, walked through Heaven's gate Friday June 25th. He was greeted by Adriana, his wife of 57 years, who has been awaiting his arrival since Sept. 23, 2002, and his siblings Ed, August, Irene, and Peter. He will be missed by his children: daughters Linda & Jim Tillema of Tucson, AZ, and Sherryl & Frank Avitabile of Crestline, and son Jim of Santa Rosa. He is also survived by granddaughter Sara & Karl VerBurg and greatgranddaughter Adriana, and stepgrandchildren Paul & Debra Anderson, Rebecca & Daryl Brown, Julie & Greg Clay, Tressa & Michael Hern and 11 greatgrandchildren. Tony was born Oct 2, 1918 to Anco & Maria Hamming in Warffum, Netherlands. He immigrated with his family April 1930 locating to northwest Iowa. Following service in the US Army during WW II, he worked as a road maintenance supervisor for LA County for 30 years before retiring June 1976. He and Adriana spent their retirement enjoying travel in their RV visiting family and friends throughtout the US. Visitation will be Wed June 30, 4-8 pm, at Montecito Mortuary, 3520 E. Washington St, Colton and a memorial service celebrating his life Thurs July 1 at 1:00 PM at Community Presbyterian Church, 23594 Lake Dr., Crestline.
