David was an avid lover of any and all wheeled vehicles, from motorcycles, to ATVs, to fast cars. In keeping with this love, he obtained his Commercial Drivers License and could pilot anything from an asphalt truck to a big rig. He was most recently employed at NSWC Carderock in the transportation division, and his work there took him all over the country.
David's love of the outdoors was instilled from an early age as a Boy Scout and at the family cabin in West Virginia. Fishing would become a lifelong passion, and he went on to cast a line at beautiful places like Emerald Isle, NC, Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Tulum, Mexico. He kept a rod in his car, and if he came across a body of water, even just a pond, David wanted to try his luck. He also had a love and respect for animals, particularly his cat Charlie.
David was an avid football fan, and could speak with authority about many aspects of the game. He was a staunch supporter of the Ravens, and relished watching Ravens games with his father.
David will be remembered for his kind heart, his bright mind, his people skills, and his love for his family. At the time of his passing, David had achieved 17 years clean, a fact of which he was very proud.
David is survived by his parents Ann and Don, his sisters Lisa and Michelle, girlfriend Jennifer Flanary, and a number of long-term friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
