Dorothy Elizabeth Burton

Born in 1925 in Baltimore, MD, Dorothy received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mount St. Agnes College in 1946. She furthered her studies for an additional year at Mercy Hospital, and then immediately started work at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

She married Joseph K. Burton on November 27, 1947, and spent 60 years raising a family and working in the Prince George’s Public Library system. During these years she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, and collecting art. Dottie loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to movies and plays with friends, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph, her loving and devoted daughter and son, Leslie Fuscello (Thomas) and David Burton, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 15 from 10-11AM at Church of the Resurrection; 3315 Greencastle Road; Burtonsville, MD 20866; where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM.
