Eric Carter, age 38, of Columbia lost his battle against the trails and pains that beset his body and has gone with his grandparents, his uncles Bill and David Hagen and Bob Beghin. For all of us left behind, we can only live in the certainty that he is in a better place without pain.
Eric was born December 2, 197 in Silver Spring, Maryland, the son of James Edward and Nancy Hagen Carter. He grew up in Columbia, Maryland, attending school there and starting college at Howard County Community College. At the age of 18 he accompanied his parents and sister to England where he lived for four of the happiest years of his life where he worked, played and got a Associates Degree from the University of Maryland, and developed friendships that stayed with him for the rest of his life. In spite of long term severe health and physical handicap, Eric took pride in his work, most recently with Service Branch.
Eric met the love of his life, Laura Tripoli, a number of years ago. They shared so many interest, friends, and joys together and she was with him in the last moments of his life here.
Eric is survived by his parents, sisters Georgeanne (Ilya Rovinski), Natalie (Barrett Carere); his nieces Rebecca Rovinski, Maren Carere, nephew Nicholas Rovinski, many aunts, uncles and cousins, amazing number of friends around the world. He will be sadly missed by us all.
All are invited to gather at the Witzke Funeral Homes, Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, Maryland 21045, on Friday October 29, 2010 where a memorial gathering will be held from 2-4pm. A celebration of life services will begin at 4pm.
