Ingrid Ireland, beloved Mother, MomMom, and Great Grandma Ingy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 97 years young. Born in Germany, Ingrid lived a long and extraordinary life defined by strength, grace, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was the matriarch - the glue that held generations together and the reason her family gathered, celebrated, and always felt at home.
Ingrid was the strongest, yet softest, person many came to know. She took care of everyone without ever making it known she was doing so. Her kindness was instinctive, her generosity genuine, and her guidance quiet but profound. She carried herself with timeless beauty and elegance, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was resilient, fiercely independent, and deeply loyal. A woman who challenged the norms of her time not with force, but with quiet confidence and dignity.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ingrid balanced raising her family while working as a real estate agent, quietly paving her own way in a profession that was not yet accustomed to female leaders. She was a trailblazer by example. Thoughtful, capable, and determined...showing her family that strength and softness can coexist beautifully. She believed deeply in family and shared her wisdom and generosity with those she loved most. She lived each day guided by the highest values, morals, and personal standards, leading not by instruction, but by example.
Ingrid was preceded in death by the love of her life, William C. Ireland. She is survived by her children Franklin (Frank) Blum, Dorothy (Dotty) Blum, and William (Billy) Ireland, and her son-in-law Harold Stewart. She was a proud grandmother to Ashley Stewart, her husband Bryce Buell, Taryn Ireland Cleary, her husband Patrick Cleary and Kathryn Ireland. Nothing brought her more joy than her great-grandchildren, Bentley Buell, Reilly Cleary, and Leighton Cleary, all of whom adored their Great Grandma. Family was always at the center of her world, and she poured her love into them endlessly. She was deeply loved, admired, and adored by her family, who felt her presence as a constant source of comfort, guidance, and unconditional support.
Ingrid leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, elegance, and devotion to family that will live on through every generation she shaped. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A graveside service will be held at Columbia Memorial Park, located at 12005 Clarksville Pike, Columbia, MD, 21029 on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
