Ruth Martha Paine

Ruth Martha Paine, Born in Washington, DC, beloved daughter of Beulah and Hibbard Paine, passed peacefully in her sleep on May 23, 2024. She is survived by her nephews Thaddeus Stauffer (Lisa) of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania; Louis Vieira (Anna) of Towson, Maryland; sister Constance Berlin of Silver City, New Mexico and nephews Jesse and Elijah Berlin of Tucson, Arizona. She will be missed by great nephew Tobias and great nieces, Lucena, Charlie, and Poppy. Through her active church life in Camden, New Jersey and Baltimore, Maryland, she developed many deep friendships especially with Deborah Joseph; Goddaughter, Quyen Schwing; and close friend and helping hand, Kathleen O’Toole. She will be remembered by many friends, co-workers and neighbors she met over the years. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband Gerald Abbott. She lived a meaningful and fulfilled life serving others in the field of Medical Administration. Her true joy, however, was in her spiritual life and her active participation in many creative and charitable endeavors. Ruth was blessed with a free-range and very happy childhood living near the Potomac River in Fairway Hills, Maryland. She spent many delighted hours on the C&O Canal, and she cherished those memories to her final days. In her honor a Mass will be officiated by Father Joseph Muth at the Stella Maris Long Term Care Chapel in Timonium, Maryland on Wednesday, May 29 at 11:00, AM.
