Victoria (Vicky) Helene Wieczorek Gove, age 77, died surrounded by her children and grandchildren on December 30, 2021. She was a 1966 Bachelor of Arts graduate in Accounting from Baruch College, City University of New York. Victoria married Paul Laurence Gove on June 24, 1968. Vicky began her career in the United States Federal Government in her 20’s at the Internal Revenue Service, then spent 23 years at the Department of Labor and retired from her position as an Auditor from the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation after 55 years of dedicated Federal service. She even received an award from Treasury Secretary Snow in the Cash Room of Treasury Headquarters for her efforts in establishing the Health Coverage Tax Credit, which provides tax credit relief to millions of Americans who receive their pensions from the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. Vicky had a true and passionate calling to serve the American People.
Victoria is survived by her son, Paul G. Gove of Seaford, DE and her daughter, Kimberly A. Dickerson of Columbia, MD, along with their spouses and her three grandchildren, Craig Steven Dickerson, Jr., Jake Robert Dickerson, and Thomas Frederick Davis. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Wieczorek and her brother, Richard Wieczorek, a niece and a nephew and numerous cousins.
Victoria was a life-long miniature schnauzer lover. Her daughter, Kimberly, has three adorable black miniature schnauzers from Vicky’s beloved Daisy, who crossed the rainbow bridge in 2019. In addition to her passion for miniature schnauzers, there was nothing Vicky liked better than her theater dates at Center Stage and dinners with her “squad” (Penny, Mary and Cathy) or long, marathon telephone conversations with her very best friend, Francine “Frankie”. Anyone who knew Vicky well could also add shopping and “Designer Handbag” Bingo to her favorite hobbies.
But the one thing Victoria loved more than anything was her family and spending time with them whenever the opportunity presented itself. To her, family was everything. She even enjoyed learning about those who came before through her extensive Ancestry research and loved to share her findings with her children, grandchildren, siblings, and cousins.
Vicky lived and loved with humor, compassion, determination, and commitment. Please feel free to share a memory or fond remembrance of Victoria on this memorial page.
