

Alberta B. Logue, age 87, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in Columbia. She was born on April 19, 1927 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Johanna (Kahr) and Hermann Barnstorff.
Alberta graduated from the University of Missouri, served an internship in Boston, at Massachusetts General Hospital. She then worked as a dietician in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was in New Orleans where she met her husband, John (Jack), at Charity Hospital. Alberta was a longtime resident of Columbia, moving back full time in 1953. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, King’s Daughters Cecile Circle and other numerous clubs.
Berti was a world traveler at an early age. She took childhood trips to Germany on ocean liners, to visit relatives. Throughout her life she summered in Door County, WI. It was in Wisconsin that she developed deep friendships through Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, the same church in which she was married.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina Logue (Craig) Held of Boulder, CO; son, Terry (Evelyn) Logue of Columbia, MO; granddaughter, Makenna (Yvonne) Johnston of Nederland, CO; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family in Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved aunt, Mimi, of Cologne, Germany and her husband, John Terrell Logue, MD.
A Celebration of Berti’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Calvary Episcopal Church. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
