A prayer service will be held Thursday February 21, 2019 at Memorial Baptist Church in Columbia, MO at 10:00 am followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Alma was born in Columbia on December 27, 1938 to Alma Lucille and Homer Schmidt, the second of three siblings. She attended Columbia public schools and later married Charles A. Katz in Hawaii in 1959. In 1972, she married Larry P. Anthony. Alma lived in Levittown, PA in the 1960's and was a full time mother and employed as a legal secretary. She moved back to Columbia in 1970 and was employed by the University of Missouri where she worked in the college of Business and Public Administration until her retirement.
Alma enjoyed being a full time housewife and mother, bowling, golf, playing cards with in laws, cooking, watching her grandchildren play sports, getting together with her girlfriends for bingo, and cross stitching.
Alma is survived by two sons, David (Jacqueline) of Hallsville and Michael (Tammy) of Moberly; one brother, Carl Lee Schmidt of Hephzibah, GA; six grandchildren, Nathaniel, Brandon, Kayla, Chelsea, Cody, and Shelby; three great-grandchildren, Bekka, Ava, Jazzmynn; one niece, Lafonda Schmidt; and two nephews, Jay and Johnathon Schmidt.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Homer Jerome "Jerry" Schmidt; her first husband, Charles A. Katz; and second husband, Larry P. Anthony.
