

Bill was born in Columbia, Missouri on October 17, 1931 to Church and Nellie Brooks. He was the youngest of six siblings. Bill graduated from Hickman Highschool and then served 4 years in the United States Army from 1949-1953. He then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Arts and Science from the University of Missouri. He was also a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, at the University of Missouri, 1956
Bill was married to Susan D. Brooks on November 16, 1962 and they lived in Columbia until 2016 when they moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona.
He is survived by his children Blake J Brooks, wife Lilli, Belinda J Suggs, husband Michael and Bradley J. Brooks, wife Jenny. Bill is also survived by his grandchildren Chandler Suggs, Zane Brooks, Grace Brooks, Seth Brooks, Mary Brooks, James Brooks, Lillian Brooks. He is preceded in death by grandson Lucas Brooks and his parents.
Bill had a career in the printing business working for Kelly Press, Fleming Printing and Universal Printing.
Bill was very passionate about supporting his Mizzou Tigers every chance he had. For over 50 years, Bill and Susan held the same footballs seats at Faurot Field.
Over the years, Bill was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Young Democrats, Lions Club, & the VFW. Bill served as President of the Tiger Quarterback Club as well as a Charter Member of the Three Point Club and served as a member of the Extra Point Club. He also was involved with fundraising for Columbia College and Stephens College over the years.
Bill was also a proud partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
A Celebration of Life/Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 15th, 11am - 2pm at The Club at Old Hawthorne. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill's life.
