Charles “Blackie” Donald Morris, 89, of Bonnots Mill, Missouri passed away on September 23, 2014 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born on March 13, 1925 to Robert and Rachel Morris. He married Dorothy Carpenter on June 29, 1946. He loved NASCAR racing, fishing, listening to country music, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He served in the US Navy as a cook and Seaman, First Class. He was primarily a bricklayer, but had many different talents. He was preceded in death by his parents, many siblings, and his son, Charlie. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his daughters: Donna (Billy) Gibson, Sheila (Glenn) Boyer, and Kim Verslues; his grandchildren: Gene Gibson, Lori Freie, Eddie Gibson, Mindy Skaggs, Randy Boyer, Kyle Boyer, Shelby Verslues, and Shane Verslues; 9 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters; two brothers; and his dog, Half-Pint. Visitation will be Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home, with funeral services on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery.
