

David William Anderson, 64, of Columbia, MO passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of his life will be from 1-3pm, Saturday, June 28th at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO.
David was born April 28, 1961, in Grand Island, NE, one of three children to Alan and Joyce (Knerl) Anderson. In 1972 the family moved to Columbia where David went on to graduate from Hickman High School with the class of 1979. He worked locally for Red Lobster and then opened restaurants for them across the US and in Canada. He later worked in the Seafood Department with Gerbes before becoming a meat cutter. He made a career that spanned 40 years with Gerbes. He spent the last several years as the local Rep for the Grocer Union (UFCW.) In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting and dealing coins. He also like to travel across the north and west United States, spending time in secluded scenic areas.
He is survived by his parents, Alan and Joyce Knerl of Columbia; a brother, Barry (Deborah) Anderson of Tucson, AZ and their daughters, Amber & Apryl Anderson; a sister, Laura Anderson of Columbia and her children, Olivia, Stephanie, and Stephen Lockett; 2 great-nieces, Leia & Leighton Lockett; many dear friends and a loving extended family from Nebraska and Pennsylvania.
