David Marshall Emery

David Marshall Emery, 62, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. He was born on September 6, 1962, in Sedalia, Missouri, to the late Richard Emery and Delta Emery-Murphy. David was preceded in death by his life partner, Kelley Thrower.

David was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent 42 years working for Broadway Village in building maintenance. His commitment to his craft extended beyond his career, he and his brothers took on many ambitious projects remodeling the family lake house. Originally built in 1948, the lake house was a second home to David and became his pride and joy, a reflection of his skill, perseverance, and passion. David enjoyed his annual fishing trips with his brothers, reminiscing on past memories and creating new ones.

Survivors include his brother: Stephen Emery and wife Valerie of St. Peters, Missouri, and his children Caylin, Cara and her husband Austin and son Jack, Mary, Rachel, and Sam; and Mitch Emery and wife Tina of Sedalia, Missouri and his children Seth and his wife Olivia and son Cohen, and Aaron and his wife Lilly.

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at the visitation, which will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. Graveside services honoring and celebrating David’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
