Butch Slaughter, 75, of Stoutsville, formerly of Columbia, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020. As per his wishes he will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. His ashes will be interred in Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia.
He was born Donnie Bryan Slaughter on September 19, 1945 in Columbia, MO the son of Kenneth and Cathleen Jenkins Slaughter. He worked many years for Gerbes, both before and after his military service, retiring in 2001. He was stationed in Germany with the US Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed bird hunting, and watching wildlife. He loved to be out on the water, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a good, friendly man, and will be dearly missed.
Butch is survived by his wife of 52 years, Darcey; sons, Scott (Melissa) Slaughter of Clinton, IL and Damon (Brandy) Slaughter of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Cody Adrian, Johnny, Mason, and Colton Kaufman, Orion and Derick Slaughter, and Kyle Slaughter; sisters, Peggy Wilkie (Stan Vaughn) of Sedalia, MO, Connie (Bob) Boyd of Ft. Meyers, FL, Judy Slaughter (Rick Dawson) of Columbia, and Rusty (Tamica) Slaughter of Benton, A; many special nieces and nephews, and many good, close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
