Dylan was born on November 3, 1989 in Columbia, MO to Kris Hulett and Jill Phelan. He attended Moberly Area Community College. As a teen, he worked as an Activities Director for West Village Manor helping the elderly. He worked at Salter Lawn Care, LLC as a shop manager, assisted with his family's business, Autos2NV, and went on to be a mechanic and service manager for GAP Automotive.
Dylan had a passion for cars and anything with an engine or mechanical working parts. He was always found wrenching on vehicles, or tinkering and repairing things for family and friends. He enjoyed cruising the river bottoms, and found peace near the water. He loved boating with his dad, and being outdoors. He was an old soul, wise beyond his years, and a best friend to so many. He never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and was always the first to offer a hand, shoulder or an ear to those in need. He was a people's champion--inspiring kindness and compassion, empathy and love to all who knew him.
Dylan is survived by his wife, Nichole Hulett, and his son, Dustin; his father, Kristopher Hulett and bonus mom, Lisa Hulett; and his mother, Jill Phelan; siblings, Tabitha Hulett (Shawn Kidwell), Bethany Hulett, Wade Hulett, Hayley Hulett, Logan Hulett and Michael Burgeson; numerous aunts and uncles; six nephews and six nieces; and so many friends he considered family.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Bill & JoAnn Phelan and Gerald & Lorene Sieck; his aunt, Janis Whiting; and four cousins.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, MO on April 27, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Funeral service will immediately follow.
