Born on January 25, 1951 in Toms River, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Norma and Lionel Briggs. Frances attended Hinkley High School and later received her LPN from Nichols Career Center in 1976. She worked for the VA Hospital as a ward secretary until her retirement in 2009.
Frances enjoyed reading, antiques, shopping with her sisters and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her children Jeff (Emily) Thurmond and Heather Kiene, grandchildren Cody (Erica), Vivien, and Evelyn Thurmond, great grandson Garrick Thurmond, sisters Kathleen (Dale) Martin and Rebekah (James) Ryberg, niece Kaitlyne (Tony) Haynes, nephew Michael Ryberg and lifelong friend Kathy Horstmann. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother Jeffrey Briggs.
Funeral services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on June 18, 2024 at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the ASPCA.
