

Gailyn Arthur, 86, of Columbia, MO formerly of Albion, Indiana passed away Monday, February 14th in Columbia. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at The Revolution Church, E 203 Leslie Lane, Columbia, MO 65202.
Gailyn was born September 26, 1935, in Bristol, IN to Richard & Roberta (Kruse) North; the youngest of four. In 1954 she graduated from Bristol High School then earned her certification as a Dental Assistant. Gailyn worked many years as a dental assistant before becoming at stay-at-home mom, raising three children. She married Leslie “Jerry” Arthur on September 1, 1956, in Bristol, IN. Gailyn loves Jesus. Her life was centered around the belief Jesus is Lord. All choices and activities reflected Gailyn’s absolute trust in Him. She also loved to spend time with her family. Gailyn was a glamorous, tough, gentle, strong vessel of effervescent joy, whimsy, and wisdom. She liked the saying, “Fun be unto you!” Gailyn once decided a traffic jam was really a parade, and she was the queen of it.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Arthur; children, Lisa (Mike) Thoms of O‘Fallon, Lori (Mike) Rawlings of Columbia, and Tony (Mary) Arthur of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Nathan (Allyson) Williams, Aimee (Todd) Benninghofen, Sarah (Ben) McKim, David (Anna) Rawlings, Luke (Emma) Rawlings, Julia, Joel, Jeremiah, and Justus Arthur; great-grandchildren, Dedan, Gavin, Cheyenne, Anna, Lily, and Levi; many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three siblings, Richard, Flora, and Carol.
