George Steven Kardon, 81, fell asleep in the Lord’s hands on August 16, 2021. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at St Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Columbia with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
George was born in Servia, a small town in northern Greece on January 3, 1940. He is preceded in death by his parents: Golfow and Athanasios Kardakos, his Uncle John and Aunt Elizabeth Kardon with whom he lived when he came to the United States at age 13.
George graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Superior with a Bachelor’s in Education. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He lived in Los Angeles for eight years before he moved to Columbia, Missouri where several of his cousins had settled. In the mid 1970’s he opened Superior Imports an import repair and preowned car sales business. He was a member of St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Columbia.
George is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vicki, his daughters: Elizabeth Facio (David); Patricia Kardon (Chris Allen); three granddaughters: Aliyana; Giana; Anastasia; three brothers; a sister and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
