
Harold Ray Ehler, 85, a life-long resident of Boone County, MO passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, in Columbia. Friends and family may gather at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO from 12pm-2pm on Friday, March 27th. A graveside service will follow at 2pm in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Harold was born July 14, 19042 in Brown Station, the youngest of seven to Hartley and Hazel Roberts Johnson. He worked for Boone County Bridge and Road for 24 years operating a road grader. He liked to watch for Morels while he drove the road grader and could easily spot a large crop from the road. He married Linda Van Vater on July 9, 1966, at Olivet Christian Church. He enjoyed playing guitar, riding his Victory motorcycle, fishing, and tinkering in his barn.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Ehler; children, Randy (Alyssa) Ehler of Vandalia and Tony Ehler of Columbia; grandchildren, Mersade “Sade” Ehler of Auxvasse, Keegan Ehler and Madelyn ‘Madi” Ehler of Columbia; many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Louise (Bob) Smith, Thelma (Jim) Betz, Tom (Berniece) Ehler, Frank (Betty) Ehler, Mary (Casey) Whitesides, and Deanie (Bob) Baumgartner, and by his parents.
